What We Do

The DM Trust is a charitable organisation that distributes funds in support of projects and activities contributing to the future growth and governance of the direct marketing sector. It accepts applications from organisations, educational establishments and groups of individuals to help find projects on topics that include:

Responsible Marketing

Education

Research

Compliance

A bid process has been established to ensure fair and transparent assessment against agreed criteria. Bids need to be supported by clear rationale and a business case outlining the project’s specific benefits for the industry or to the individuals receiving education or train. Organisations which can apply for funds include commercial, educational and non-profit entities. To be successful, projects and courses need to focus on one-to-one marketing techniques, help provide insight into the impact of one-to-one marketing or contribute to the governance of the sector.
Please note – bursary funds may be used for course expenses but not for subsistence. Bursaries are awarded to institutions rather than directly to students.

Monitoring the impact/success of on-going projects

The Board reviews progress reports from fund recipients and evaluates completed projects by taking the initial aims of funded projects into account, before reviewing overall impact.

Generation of additional funds

The Board plans and executes fundraising activities, including corporate and personal giving, events and the pursuit of government grants.
